On Wednesday April 16th, John Thune was the keynote speaker at the Pennington County Republican Women’s luncheon. He engaged the attendees with his story of entering politics and his family heritage, and then talked about where we as far as getting the Trump agenda on the right track.

He is determined to get as much done as they can in the next two years. He also stressed the importance of keeping the senate or even expanding the Republican membership to the number 60.

During the question and answer time I was able to be the first one to speak. Since there were guards watching the crowd, I asked if I could approach him to hand him a letter of thanks and commendation from the South Dakota State GOP.

He recognized me and told them it was good. He was visibly moved to receive the envelope and placed it in his inside pocket. He then reached out and gave me a hug. Clearly it meant a great deal to him.

I believe it was the right thing to do at the right time.
