Resolution 1

A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING OUR PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP

WHEREAS, President Donald Trump was elected in November of 2016; and

WHEREAS, since then almost four million jobs have been created in the US economy; and

WHEREAS, economic growth has continued throughout the Trump administration; and

WHEREAS, African-American unemployment has recently achieved the lowest rate ever recorded; and

WHEREAS, Hispanic-American unemployment is at the lowest rate ever recorded; and

WHEREAS, Asian-American unemployment recently achieved the lowest rate ever recorded; and

WHEREAS, women’s unemployment recently reached the lowest rate in 65 years; and

WHEREAS, youth unemployment has recently hit the lowest rate in nearly half a century; and

WHEREAS, the lowest unemployment rate ever recorded for Americans without a high school diploma was achieved; and

WHEREAS, President Trump signed the biggest package of tax cuts and reforms in U.S. history, resulting in over $300 billion pouring back into the U.S. economy in the first quarter of 2018 alone; and

WHEREAS, the Administration opened the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) to drilling and approved the Keystone XL and Dakota Access Pipelines; and

WHEREAS, a record number of federal regulations have been abolished entirely; and

WHEREAS, the United States withdrew from the job-killing Paris Climate Accord; and

WHEREAS, the Administration cancelled the illegal, anti-energy, so-called Clean Power Plan; and

WHEREAS, Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Judge Brett Kavanaugh have been confirmed, along with more circuit court judges than by any other new administration; and

WHEREAS, President Trump passed massive Criminal Justice Reform with the First Step Act; and

WHEREAS, the United States withdrew from the horrible, one-sided Iran Deal; and

WHEREAS, the United States reached a breakthrough agreement with the E.U. to increase U.S. exports; and

WHEREAS, the United States imposed tariffs on foreign steel and aluminum to protect our national security and American jobs; and

WHEREAS, the United States imposed tariffs on China in response to China’s forced technology transfer, intellectual property theft, and their chronically abusive trade practices; and

WHEREAS, better trade deals have been negotiated with many countries, most recently China; and

WHEREAS, the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) has been negotiated to replace the flawed North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and is awaiting approval in Congress; and

WHEREAS, the United States dollar is the strongest currency in the world; and

WHEREAS, the United States has begun building a border wall; and

WHEREAS, these accomplishments have been done in spite of sheer obstruction and even false and unproven charges being levied against our President during so-called impeachment proceedings by the progressive liberals of the Democrat party, and

WHEREAS, the White House celebrates Christmas openly and with stunning decorations; and

WHEREAS, the United States finally moved our U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem; and

WHEREAS, President Trump and his Administration have been dedicated to advancing policies that protect the fundamental right to life for the unborn, the elderly, the medically dependent and disabled earning him the National Right to Life Committee’s endorsement, and

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Republican Party of South Dakota is proud of President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump; and

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Republican Party of South Dakota thanks President Trump for his long list of significant achievements while in office; and

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Republican Party of South Dakota condemns the actions of the progressive liberals in Congress to overturn President Trump’s election through bogus impeachment proceedings; and

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Republican Party of South Dakota fully supports President Trump.

 


 

Resolution 2

A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING SOUTH DAKOTA GOVERNOR KRISTI NOEM’S HANDLING OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

WHEREAS, Governor Kristi Noem has let science, data and facts guide decisions during the COVID-19 pandemic; and

WHEREAS, the result is the dramatic flattening of South Dakota’s infections curve; and

WHEREAS, South Dakota has the hospital capacity to care for those that need it; and

WHEREAS, Governor Kristi Noem has a plan to get South Dakota back to normal; and

WHEREAS, this plan relies on South Dakotans to rely on personal responsibility and common sense; let it be

RESOLVED, that the Republican Party of South Dakota thanks Governor Kristi Noem for her leadership, clear vision and effective common sense handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in South Dakota.

 


 

Resolution 3

A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING UNITED STATES SENATOR MIKE ROUNDS

WHEREAS, Senator Mike Rounds is running for his second term for Senate; and

WHEREAS, Senator Mike Rounds has tirelessly worked to secure Ellsworth Air Force Base as the location for the first two B-21 Raider Bomber Squadrons, both the training and operational squadron; and

WHEREAS, Senator Mike Rounds has helped save the Veterans Administration facility in Hot Springs, South Dakota from closure; and

WHEREAS, Senator Mike Rounds has secured on-going funding for the Sanford Underground Research Facility; and

WHEREAS, Senator Mike Rounds has secured provisions in the Dodd-Frank banking reform package, which rolled back burdensome banking regulations and made financing more accessible to South Dakota families; and

WHEREAS, Senator Mike Rounds has worked with President Donald Trump to cut taxes, to eliminate the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate, to support South Dakota farmers and ranchers during difficult economic conditions and to fight for better trade policies; and

WHEREAS, Senator Mike Rounds has consistently delivered results for South Dakota and has continuously supported the South Dakota Republican Party Platform; now therefore let it be

RESOLVED, that the Republican Party of South Dakota thanks Senator Mike Rounds for his long list of significant achievements while in office; and be it further

RESOLVED, that the Republican Party of South Dakota supports Senator Mike Rounds for election to his second term.

 


 

Resolution 4

A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING UNITED STATES CONGRESSMAN DUSTY JOHNSON

WHEREAS, Congressman Dusty Johnson was overwhelmingly elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018 by the vote of the people of South Dakota, and

WHEREAS, since his election Dusty has stood for conservative principles, voting against the Green New Deal, against impeachment, against voting rights for illegal immigrants, against erosion of our Second Amendment Rights, and against overregulation, and

WHEREAS, as the top Republican on the subcommittee that oversees the food stamp (SNAP) program, Dusty has worked with the Trump administration on encouraging work and personal responsibility, reforming welfare, and implementing a number of important changes to SNAP, and

WHEREAS, Dusty has been an effective legislator, passing bills, serving as floor manager on legislation important to South Dakota, and serving on the whip team that secured needed votes on major packages like the 9/11 Victim’s Compensation Fund and President Trump’s US-Mexico-Canada trade agreement, and

WHEREAS, Dusty has been named a “Defender of Economic Freedom” by the Club for Growth and a “Taxpayer Hero” by Citizens Against Government Waste, and

WHEREAS, Dusty has been a national leader in trade and agricultural policy, prompting President Trump to call Dusty a “phenomenal advocate” for the people of South Dakota and our nation’s agricultural producers, and

WHEREAS, South Dakota Republicans recently recognized these accomplishments by providing Dusty with one of the largest congressional margins of victory in state history earlier this month in the Republican primary election, and

WHEREAS, Dusty enters the general election having been endorsed by National Right to Life and the National Rifle Association, and having received President Trump’s “complete and total endorsement,” and

WHEREAS, Dusty’s wife Jacquelyn, and their three sons, Max, Ben, and Owen, are supportive of his efforts to serve the public as a member of the United States Congress, and

WHEREAS, Dusty Johnson will continue to bring South Dakota Republican, conservative values to Washington, D.C., now therefore, let it be

RESOLVED by the South Dakota Republican Party that we do enthusiastically support the efforts of Dusty Johnson to be elected to the United States House of Representatives and urge all eligible voters to re-elect Dusty Johnson in the 2020 general election.

 


 

Resolution 5

A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY

WHEREAS, The rights of American citizens proceed from The Creator, not from government. Government authority proceeds only from the consent of the people. Individuals, including the unborn, have the intrinsic right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; and

WHEREAS, The founding fathers of our great nation dealt thoughtfully with the issue of life when they included the following statements in our country’s Declaration of Independence: “they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, ‘that’ among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”; and

WHEREAS, Our constitution, in the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments, reaffirms these rights with the following guarantee: “Nor shall any person be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law;” and

WHEREAS, The National Republican Platforms of 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2016 stated, in part: “The unborn child has a fundamental right to life which cannot be infringed.”; and

WHEREAS, Every innocent human life from conception forward is a created child of God; now therefore, let it be

RESOLVED: That no government money should fund abortions; and be it further

RESOLVED: The South Dakota Republican Party reaffirms its long-standing support of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States in the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments, and the National Republican Party Platforms, with respect to human rights and reaffirms its historic support for the sanctity of human life, from conception to natural death.

 


 

Resolution 6

A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE UNITED STATES FLAG AND LAW AND ORDER

WHEREAS, The founding documents of these United States are the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights; and

WHEREAS, the visible symbol of those freedoms and rights is the Flag of the United States; and

WHEREAS, the rule of law and order is being tested regularly and the parameters are being continually redefined,; and

WHEREAS, the Constitutional  rights of all of its citizens are equally valuable and only the existence of law and order can assure that each person can be free to exercise their God-given rights and freedoms; and

WHEREAS, our country is under siege by those bent on insurrection and lawlessness; and

WHEREAS, the Republican Party takes a strong position in the defense of our traditions, freedoms and way of life; and

WHEREAS, the Republican Party is the stalwart for those values, principles and freedoms, and

WHEREAS, the Republican Party takes a position in support of the United States Flag and condemns any destruction, defacing, or disrespect towards this symbol of freedom; now therefore let it be

RESOLVED that the South Dakota Republican Party stands against insurrection, rioting, looting and violent protesting and supports law enforcement in their quest to support and restore law and order; and be it further

RESOLVED that the South Dakota Republican Party supports the United States Flag as a representation of all the freedoms, values and principles extolled in the Republican Party Platform and will resist any attempt to denigrate, desecrate or disrespect the symbolism of the United States Flag.

 


 

Resolution 7

A RESOLUTION HONORING THE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENTS OF JUDY TRZYNKA

WHEREAS, for over 45 years, Judy Trzynka has invested thousands of hours campaigning for conservative political candidates; and

WHEREAS, Judy Trzynka has served as Chairwoman or Vice Chairwoman of the Codington County Republica Party for almost 14 years, and as State Committeewoman for the last 7, and she is the face of the Codington County Republican Party; and

WHEREAS, Judy Trzynka served as the founder of the Codington County Republican Women and as its President, who has provided treats for troops, sponsored Girls State Delegates, supported Teen Age Republicans, provided TAR Camp Scholarships and constantly volunteers at campaign headquarters and they have received the National Federation of Republican Women’s top award in the nation for the greatest increase in membership in small sized club; and

WHEREAS, Judy Trzynka has served as a delegate to the Republican National Convention on multiple occasions; and

WHEREAS, Judy Trzynka has worked countless hours as a precinct committeewoman and poll watcher helping voters in assisted living centers; and

WHEREAS, Judy Trzynka has worked tirelessly for the local and South Dakota Library Council; and

WHEREAS, Judy Trzynka has shown unwavering guidance and support to the South Dakota Republican Party; therefore let it be

RESOLVED that the Republican Party of South Dakota recognizes the deep and meaningful impact that Judy Trzynka has had on so many lives; and be it further

RESOLVED that the South Dakota Republican Party honors the accomplishments, and legacy of our friend and colleague Judy Trzynka, a faithful and respected Republican who inspires people throughout the State of South Dakota through her love, faith, and hard work to fight for conservative and Godly principles.
