SDGOP to host Virtual Victory Party on Election Night from 8-11pm
The South Dakota Republican Party announced today that their election night gathering will be “virtually the best election night party in town,” as they host the Virtual Victory Party, an on-line election evening event to watch returns as well as to hear victory speeches from Republican candidates and officeholders statewide.
SDGOP Chairman Dan Lederman announced that “election night activities will be live-streamed on both Facebook Live as well as Zoom from 8PM to 11pm Central time for press and South Dakota County GOP organizations in an effort to minimize COVID exposure risks for participants.”
Congressman Dusty Johnson, US Senator Mike Rounds and Public Utilities Commissioner Gary Hanson will be addressing viewers live via the Internet, with other officeholders joining as the evening progresses.
Chairman Dan Lederman noted that just like the State GOP Convention, “With the unique situation this year with the coronavirus, we felt this was a great way to get people involved while minimizing exposure. We recently lost former legislator and current GOP Davison County Chair Lance Carson, as well as State Rep. Bob Glanzer earlier this year to the Chinese Coronavirus, and while everyone wants to celebrate, we want people to stay safe & healthy.”
The SDGOP will have several County Parties holding smaller events across the state and joining the Virtual Victory Party online to keep event sizes manageable, allowing groups to have everyone together while practicing safe distancing.
The Republican Party will be posting more information with regards to the election night events on facebook as well as its new website at SDGOP.com.
