South Dakota Republican Party offers condolences to the Thune Family on the passing of Harold Thune
On behalf of the entire South Dakota Republican Party family, Chairman Dan Lederman offered his condolences to Senator John Thune and his family for the passing of his father Harold Thune this past Saturday at the age of 100.
“It’s hard to encapsulate the lifetime of someone as accomplished as Senator Thune’s father in just a few words,” Lederman said. “Basketball star, Teacher, World War II fighter pilot, coach… we remember Harold for all those titles, but we especially remember him for being a husband to Pat, and the father to five children including United States Senator John Thune, who Harold lived to see become the second highest ranking member in the US Senate, primarily as a result of the example he set for his son.”
“We ask that you pray for the family’s comfort as they remember Harold, now that he has completed his life’s journey, and moves on to his eternal reward,” Lederman said.
